The kingdom of Bohemia, now part of Czechoslovakia, has traditionally been famous for its glass-making, which included the manufacture of high-quality glass stones for costume jewellery. From the mid 19thCentury these were made in vast quantities and exported to the costume jewellery centres of Europe such as Paris. The industry was based in Gablonz (now Jablonec). From the 1890s to the outbreak of World War II, a distinctive style of costume jewellery was produced, now popular with collectors. Czech jewellery is usually unsigned but occasionally it is marked “Czech” or “Czechoslovakia”
This section contains Czech, Bohemian and Venetian Glass Vintage Jewellery.
